People of ETH: How Do You Bring Order to Your Student Life?

Read Time:1 Minute, 38 Second

We face challenges in our study life throughout our years in ETH. Sometimes everything gets entangled with each other. To keep everything in order is a difficult task. This is why we asked people of ETH: How do you bring order to your student life?

To bring order to my student life was and is never one of my concerns. Bringing “order” or focusing too much on the concept of “order” in my opinion is not something that is enjoyable, instead I focus on remembering, embracing my day to day experiences and try to relive them in order not to forget that I have lived (them). Academically/educationally what I find as the most efficient way to learn is the process of internalising certain topics, which consists of memorising, thinking, solving, experimenting and matching concepts with others even though they might at first glance seem as though they have nothing in common. Through these “methods” I try to connect everything with everything to achieve a higher understanding of everyone and everything. One could say that this is order in my (student) life.

I bring order to my student life primarily through two simple yet effective methods: visual organization and strict time management. I rely on sticky notes to remind me of essential tasks, and assignments, placing them where I can see them constantly. For every major task, I make sure to set a firm deadline for myself, which keeps me accountable and prevents procrastination. I maintain a consistent rhythm by waking up and going to bed on time every day. This fixed sleep schedule is the anchor that ensures I am rested, focused, and ready to follow my plan daily.
