Fellow students, dear readers,
After a fast start to the semester, we made it to halftime. So now is a good time to have a look back at what happened so far.
October is always full of many occasions for VSETH. Some of them are regular events: the VSETH Open Day was well-visited by many students who were curious about the work of VSETH and they also enjoyed some lunch with our board members. The VSETH Activity Fair, where VSETH committees and recognised organisations present themselves, also took place on 14 October in Zentrum and on 15 October in Hönggerberg. Many students have used the chance to get to know the offers of VSETH and the recognised organisations.
Some of them were new, such as the Festival of the World: on 14 October, CAB hosted an international bazaar and a party, organised for the first time with the participation of many international associations. An apéro was also held at Dozentenfoyer with the board members of the participating associations to inform them on the offers of VSETH for its recognised organisations.
We also organised, together with the rectorate and ETH Store, the distribution of Basisprüfung hoodies in Zentrum and Hönggerberg for students who have passed the first-year exams last summer, accompanied by a speech by Rector Dissertori. For many students, passing the first-year exams is the most important milestone in their studies at ETH – as such, we are glad to be able to realise these hoodies as a token of appreciation and accomplishment.
Every semester, the Mitgliederrat (MR) takes place, where the delegates of the student associations and committees decide on important VSETH matters, such as the budget for the coming year. The next MR will be taking place this month, on 23 November. If you are interested in attending (not necessarily this time, but also in the future), contact your student association, they might have some place for you in their delegation.
We wish you the best for the rest of the semester and hope to see you at one of our events!
Best,
Emir
